Terms of Service

Effective 10 August 2026 · ChosenRole is operated by Dasby Web Design, California, USA.

1. What this is

ChosenRole helps you build resumes, cover letters and applications from a record of your own career that you verify. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, don’t use the service.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for keeping your password and your capture link private — anyone holding either can act as you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

3. Your content is yours

You keep all rights to your career facts, resumes, letters and everything else you put in. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service for you: storing your content, processing it, and sending the relevant parts to our AI provider to generate the output you asked for. We do not use it to train models and we do not sell it.

4. Truthfulness — your responsibility and ours

The service is built so the AI can only write from facts you have verified, and asks you for numbers rather than inventing them. That is a design commitment we take seriously.

It is not a guarantee. AI systems make mistakes, and wording can drift from what you meant. You are responsible for what your resume says. Read every document before you send it. If something in it is not true about you, do not send it — and please report it so we can fix it.

5. No promise of a job

We help you present your experience well. We do not promise interviews, offers, or that any employer’s software will read your document a particular way. Resume scores, match percentages and fit ratings are informed opinions, not predictions.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use ChosenRole to:

  • Build a resume for a fabricated identity, or claim credentials you do not hold.
  • Upload someone else’s personal information without their permission.
  • Break into, overload, or probe the service outside a coordinated disclosure.
  • Resell or redistribute the service or its templates as your own product.

We may suspend an account that does these things. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why first.

7. Plans and payment

The free plan includes one resume and the features listed on the pricing page, with no card required, and it does not expire. There is one paid plan at $30 a month, billed in advance, renewing automatically until you cancel.

How to cancel: open Settings and click Cancel subscription. It takes effect immediately, with no phone call, no retention offer and nobody to talk to. Cancelling is at least as easy as signing up was, deliberately. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you already paid, and nothing you have written is deleted.

AI allowances: the free plan includes 40 AI runs a month and the paid plan 300. A run is anything that calls the model — grading, Auto-Improve, tailoring, the interview, the assistant. Editing your work, every template, and PDF and Word export are unlimited on both plans and are not counted.

Both allowances reset at the start of each calendar month. If you reach one, further AI runs stop until it resets; we will not pretend otherwise, that is a limit rather than a nudge. Nothing you have written is affected and every non-AI feature keeps working. On the free plan the paid plan lifts the limit; on the paid plan there is nothing above it to buy, so email us and we will talk to you like a person.

These exist because there is a single AI budget for the whole service. When it is exhausted, AI features stop for everyone, so an unmetered plan would spend other customers’ capacity. For the same reason, when that budget runs low, free accounts are paused before paid ones.

Refunds: if the service does not do what this site says it does, email us within 30 days and we will refund you. We would rather return your money than keep it on a misunderstanding.

If we change prices, existing subscribers keep their price until the end of their current period and are told before it renews.

8. Exports and getting your data out

Documents you export are yours to keep and use, including after you cancel. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep before you delete — we cannot recover it afterwards.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Features that depend on outside services — AI generation, job boards, email — can fail for reasons outside our control.

10. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to ChosenRole is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost job opportunities, lost earnings, or indirect losses.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop using ChosenRole and delete your account at any time. We may end the agreement if you materially breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund any unused prepaid time.

12. Changes and governing law

We will give notice in the app before material changes take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
